ORIGINS & DEVELOPMENT
Hacker Experience roots. A new world to explore.
Looking for a game like Hacker Experience? Terminal Rebels builds on Hacker Experience Legacy and develops that foundation into an actively maintained, free multiplayer hacking game.
What comes from Hacker Experience Legacy?
The original Hacker Experience Legacy was created by Renato Massaro and NeoArt Labs. Its open-source code under the MIT license is the foundation of Terminal Rebels. The core idea remains a shared virtual network: build a server, improve your software, discover targets and decide which traces to leave behind.

Terminal Rebels is independently operated by Digital Alpha World. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the original developers. Accounts and progress belong to Terminal Rebels.
What is different in Terminal Rebels?
- A desktop built around the game. Arrange app windows, search your software, follow transfers and keep the Task Manager open while you work.
- Mouse or terminal. Use the visual interface or simulated Kali and PowerShell commands, including simplified modes.
- Companies with stories to uncover. Explore fictional NPC companies and follow links hidden in memos, mail and text files. New leads can open up another part of the network.
- Tools for the community. Use in-game bug reports, request support and work with other players in collectives. Find additional desktop apps in the App Store.
- English and German. Choose your game language and revisit the introductory tutorials whenever you need them.
Actively developed by Florian Sovka
Florian Sovka develops Terminal Rebels under the Digital Alpha World association. The work includes modernizing the inherited systems, fixing gameplay problems and adding new ways to explore the network. Player feedback and reports from the game help shape further improvements.
The project is free to play in a browser, with optional Premium packages. It is a hacking simulation with missions, rival players and long-term progression, rather than a tool for accessing real computers.
